LG V30 packs a 6-inch QHD OLED Full Vision 18:9 display, however, LG has managed to decrease the footprint of the V30 as opposed to its predecessor. The LG V30 is 8mm shorter and 3 mm narrower than its predecessor and weighs in at 158gms. The device is also pretty thin at 7.3mm. LG touts the V30 as “the lightest among smartphones in the 6-inch and over category.” The device is powered by Snapdragon 835 and paired with a 4GB RAM. Storage options include a choice between 64GB or 128GB version, both of which will be supplemented with a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 2TB. The company has also worked on the optics and apparently the LG V30 is the first phone to feature a f/1.6 aperture camera. The camera unit comes equipped with a Crystal Glass Lens which is expected to deliver better and more accurate colors as opposed to a plastic lens. The rear dual camera setup in the LG V30 is made up of a 16-Megapixel (Standard Angle)+13-Megapixel Wide Angle (F1.9/120-degree.) In the meanwhile, the front/selfie camera unit is a 5-Megapixel wide angle lens. LG V30 runs on Android Nougat 7.1.2 and is backed by a 3,300mAh battery. It’s safe to presume that LG will roll out the Android Oreo upgrade as soon as possible. On the connectivity front, one would get 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB and Type-C 2.0. Additionally, the phone is also IP68 and is built in accordance with the MIL-STD 810G military standards. LG V30 is also well equipped on the audio front and offers 32-bit Hi-Fi DAC with voice recognition. Other features include face recognition, fingerprint sensor, and wireless charger.
